The revision of the ISO 50001 began in 2011 and since then all energy managers have been waiting for the release of the new ISO 50001:2018. Now, since mid-August 2018, it has been there and has a change in the structure with it. In addition to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015, ISO 50001 for the development of systematic energy management is now shining in the glow of the high-level structure. The previous core requirements, such as the continuous improvement of energy-related performance, as well as monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation, have been further specified and the focus has been increasingly placed on top management.
In order to be certified for the new standard 50001:2018, a corresponding conversion must take place, which began on 01.01.2019. With the date of publication, the new standard on 21.08.2018, the actual 3-year transition period for the companies also starts. However, this time there is a special feature.
